Larry King joins Kremlin propaganda channel
A Kremlin-funded propaganda channel has picked up an American talk show icon as its new face.
Russia Today (RT), a mouthpiece of the Vladimir Putin regime, announced that King will be launching a new show on its channel in June.
The King acquisition, whose price was not announced, is a big step forward for Russian messaging around the world, and especially for the popular acceptance of RT messaging in the United States.
US government-sponsored broadcasting has acquired no such foreign counterparts for its programming abroad.
“I have interviewed every US president since Nixon, and lest people forget, I helped usher Ross Perot into the national conversation during the 1992 presidential contest. I appreciate the importance of providing a platform to those with real alternative visions for our country’s future,” King said in an RT release.
In an accompanying video, King refers to the channel as “RT,” and not its full name “Russia Today.”
