Ahmadinejad apparently bugged Khamenei’s compound
Now we see why President Ahmadinejad has seemed so confident in challenging Supreme Leader Khamenei. Apparently Ahmadinejad had succeeded in planting listening devices in Khamenei’s fortified compound.
Our sources in Iran told us on April 24 that after the flap surrounding Ahmadinejad’s dismissal of Intelligence Minister Moslehi and Khamenei’s instruction that Moslehi remain in place, the security detail at Khamenei’s residential compound (pictured) were changed.
Word on the street in Tehran was that the intelligence service, acting on Ahmadinejad’s instructions, had planted the spy gear to monitor the Supreme Leader. Moslehi, according to our sources, learned of the operation and informed Khamenei.
Other personnel changes may have been a result of this case. There is speculation that the bugging had already occurred, that Ahmadinejad already had Khamenei under surveillance, and that Moslehi learned of it only after the fact.
The surveillance may have given Ahmadinejad highly incriminating evidence against Khamenei, who is known to have amassed a personal fortune as top ayatollah, and his closest allies. This could be why Ahmadinejad has felt so defiant, in spite of Khamenei’s repeated admonitions to keep corruption allegations quiet.
